DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – The Duluth City Council has unanimously approved a 900 thousand dollars tax abatement for Cirrus Aircraft.
The company is looking to purchase the building that once housed the AAR maintenance facility.
Duluth officials say upkeep of the vacant building near the airport is costing the city a million dollars a year.
The Monday night meeting was the last for Councilor Derek Medved and 27 people have applied to fill his position.
Interviews of the applicants will get underway by the council and they hope to have a replacement chosen by the end of the month.
