This week on The WEVE Morning Show, our Artist of the Week was Lola Marsh. Hailing from Tel Aviv, Israel and getting their start in 2013 as two friends just looking to make music, Lola Marsh have done just that, with their work appearing on the popular AMC series “Better Call Saul”
Albums released by Lola Marsh include “You’re Mine” (EP), “Remember Roses”, and “Someday Tomorrow Maybe”. My favorite songs from the band include “Le Sud”, which is an English translation of a song originally recorded by French artist Nino Ferrer about an island in the south of France and the perfect anthem for your upcoming Summer vacation, and “Only For A Moment” which is a neat little folk bop with some pop elements.
Lola Marsh’s vocalist Yael Shoshanna Cohen possesses some amazing vocals. Presented in a more husky manner, the voice will remind you of Florence from Florence + The Machine, or maybe Adele. I recommend listening to “Wishing Girl” to catch Cohen’s amazing vocal work.
Here is a YouTube playlist of the songs we shared on The WEVE Morning Show this week from Lola Marsh. Check it out, and listen to 97.9 WEVE weekday mornings around 8:20 to see who our next artist of the week is.
