LUTSEN, MN (KDAL) – An early morning fire on Tuesday has destroyed the Lutsen Lodge on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
The Cook County Sheriff says several fire crews responded to the blaze that was reported just before 1 a-m.
The main lodge building of the resort was engulfed in fire as crews arrived.
No guests were on the site and the only employee was able to make it out safely.
There were previous fires at the lodge in 1949 and 1951.
The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
