DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A Duluth Police K-9, who joined the department earlier this month, tracked down a burglary suspect early Monday morning.
Police responded to reports of a burglary in progress around 1:40 a-m in the 1900 block of East 8th Street.
When they arrived a man, later identified as a 34 year old Duluth resident, was attempting to gain entrance to Sara’s Table Cafe.
He fled the scene on a stolen bicycle and then continued to flee on foot in the 1900 block of South Street.
As the suspect ran into a wooded area, K-9 Gus was deployed and the man was located in the 400 block of 19th Avenue East.
The suspect was detained and taken to a hospital for injuries sustained during the apprehension.
He faces pending charges of attempted burglary, felony possession of stolen property and fleeing an officer.
