DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – To encourage voluntary compliance with city ordinances before formal action is taken, the City of Duluth has launched the Clean Streets, Strong Communities Courtesy Notice Program.
Rather than starting with a citation or formal notice inspection process, those residents that are out of code compliance may now get a Courtesy Notice door hanger that outlines the concern and offers up to 14 days to correct minor violations without penalty.
The Courtesy Notices would apply to non-life threatening violations such as small accumulations of rubbish or abandoned items and general nuisance issues.
If the issue persists after a Courtesy Notice is issued, a formal enforcement case would be opened for investigation and a possible citation.
