NORMANNA TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – St. Louis County Sheriff Deputies shot and killed a man who was shooting at firefighters and officers in Normanna Township on Tuesday.
The incident began around 9:20 a-m when a structure fire was reported on the Heritage Road. The caller said a neighbor had sprayed a family member with gasoline and set their home on fire. The caller also said the suspect had set is own house on fire and was armed with a rifle.
First responders including a Duluth Township police officer and a firefighter were shot at.
Five sheriff deputies approached the area of the burning homes encountering and shooting the suspect. Deputies then attempted life saving measures but the suspect was later pronounced dead at the scene.
No others were injured in what Sheriff Gordon Ramsay described as a “chaotic and very dangerous incident.”
As a standard procedure, the five deputies have been placed on administrative leave while the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) conducts an investigation.
Northern News Now reports that a source close to the investigation has identified the suspect in the officer-involved shooting as 57-year-old Adam Wolf who had a lengthy history of conflict with his neighbors,
