This week on The WEVE Morning Show, our Artist of the Week was Lord Huron. Getting their start in Michigan before becoming a well known band around the globe, this band is a a folk/pop band that have released four studio albums and several EPs and singles in addition. Their music sounds similar to artists such as Vance Joy and George Ezra.
Albums include “Lonesome Dreams”, “Strange Trails” (my favorite), “Vide Noir” and “Long Lost”.
Lord Huron is not afraid to try new things with their songs. Layered into each album is a story about long lost love, or people who are literally lost. The title track of the fourth album has been an anthem for me since it was first released last April. The instruments will sometimes convey the emotions as well. Check out “The Ghost on the Shore” for a good example of that.
Here is a YouTube playlist of the songs we shared on The WEVE Morning Show this week from Lord Huron. Check it out, and listen to 97.9 WEVE weekday mornings around 8:20 to see who our next artist of the week is.
