DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The fifth member of the Duluth Police Department’s K-9 Division is now on the job.
Police Officer Shane McKee and K-9 Fitz graduated from training school on May 22nd and began duties on May 26th.
Fitz, who was named after the Edmund Fitzgerald ship, is a one and half year old German Shepard-Malinois from Hungary and specializes in narcotic detection, tracking and criminal apprehension.
Officer McKee has been with the department for six years and was most recently a member of the Tactical Response Team.
