COOK, MN (KDAL) – On Monday night, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a hunter was lost in an area several miles east of Cook.
The 70 year old man from Minneapolis left to go hunting in the area at daybreak. At some point during the day, the hunter had injured a deer and was tracking the animal when he became lost when darkness fell.
Dispatchers received a dropped 911 call from the man’s cell phone and was able to get general GPS coordinates to his location.
Several agencies including the St. Louis County Rescue Squad were sent to the region and the hunter was found uninjured deep in the woods by search parties.
