DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight on Thursday for freezing drizzle.
The advisory now includes most of northeast Minnesota, the North Shore of Lake Superior, the Twin Ports and extends into Carlton County. Also included is Douglas and Bayfield Counties in Wisconsin.
A Dense Fog Advisory is also in place across the region with visibilities limited to less than a quarter mile.
The freezing drizzle could create very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roadways and bridges.
There is also a chance of freezing rain in the forecast for the area on Friday and Friday night.
Motorists should slow down and use caution while traveling in foggy and icy conditions.
The accumulating ice could also lead to possible power outages with east winds gusting to 25 miles per hour.
