SEOUL, July 3 (Reuters) – South Korea has disputed Coupang’s claim that only about 3,000 records were affected in a massive data breach, saying authorities identified access to more than 33 million records and adding that they view the matter as far more serious, a presidential adviser said on Friday.
The presidential office also did not know in advance of, or direct, Coupang’s retrieval in China of equipment linked to the breach, contrary to allegations contained in a recent U.S. House Judiciary Committee report, National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac said at a press briefing.
