Wayne Allen
Bio
Wayne Allen Volochenko, A.K.A. Wayne Allen (also known as Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class (SFC) Volochenko…or Sergeant Volo, for short) was born in Minot, North Dakota. A graduate of Des Lacs-Burlington High School, Wayne earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting with minors in Theatre and Criminal Justice from Minot State University.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Wayne honed his skills as a radio DJ in Minot and Harvey, ND. His journey took a turn in 2004 when he joined the U.S. Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst. He retired from the Army after 20 years, 5 months, and 29 days (and a wake-up) of service in May, 2025. He is happily married to his wonderful wife, Tabitha, and is the proud dad of step-son, Hunter, and three sons—Brian, Dakota, and Brock. His furry kids include Max, a Chihuahua, and Precious, a Munchkin cat.
Wayne enjoys both playing and watching sports. His favorites include basketball, softball, dodgeball, and disc golf, and he’s eager to try pickleball someday. He is a dedicated fan of several sports teams, including the New England Patriots, Detroit Red Wings, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Mavericks, and New York Knicks; he also cheers for the Minnesota teams: the Vikings, Timberwolves, Twins, and Wild. His favorite band is Nine Inch Nails, but likes a very large variety of music genres, and his favorite shows include Letterkenny and Shoresy. He’s also a pro wrestling fan and enjoys video games. While not a foodie, Wayne enjoys fried fish, taco pizza, a good burrito, and North Dakota favorites such as knoephla soup and fleischkuekle. He’s also a fan of dill pickle chips and Taco John’s.
If he didn’t get back into radio after retiring from the Army, he told his Soldiers that he was going to start a “YouTube Tickey-Tock” with him finger painting. He was going to grow out his bald-fro and beard, and ramble on about happy little trees…kinda like Bob Ross, but without the art talent.
