DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Friday will be the last day of CBS Radio news, ending nearly 100 years of nationwide broadcasting.
KDAL Radio in Duluth has been a CBS affiliate for 89 of those years, joining the network in 1937.
CBS cited “challenging economic realities” and a shift in programming strategies as the reasons for shutting down their radio news division.
Beginning at midnight on Saturday (5/23) KDAL will become an NBC News Radio affiliate featuring national and international news at the top and bottom of the hour and special reports when needed.
Northland News Radio KDAL will continue state and regional news reports from the Minnesota News Network and the Wisconsin Radio Network.
